Connect and Collaborate
The Graduate Student Writing Group is happy to provide TWO ways you can network with your graduate peers, commit to writing, and graduate!
CANVAS website
The main Canvas website for GSWG is set up for all members to interact, share information, collaborate, and post questions or answers. Members can also set up a private site for small writing groups that want to stay in touch virtually – this is especially useful for our graduate students doing fieldwork or writing from home or in absentia.
Our Canvas website will primarily focus on issues that affect UT graduate students, and include UT specific information regarding upcoming library workshops, important speakers, dissertation formatting guidelines, and graduation information.
PhinisheD.org
The secret is out – PhinisheD is an international graduate student community based out of Wayne State University (Hi, Tom!) and has been around for almost two decades. This is a lively, active, ANONYMOUS community of scholars from around the world in almost every discipline.
PhinisheD features a wide range of resources and suggestions, including tips for writing perfected over the years by long-term members, support for that final push to the phinish line, and best of all, it’s anonymous. If you have a tricky situation, you can post it here and get some feedback.
