Academic Writing Month (#AcWriMo) Challenge

Overview
Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) was started three years ago by some scholars in response to the long-standing November/Novel Writing Month. Like its sister campaign, AcWriMo takes place from November 1 – November 30 every year, and is meant to jumpstart your writing at the time of the semester when all we want is pumpkin pie, chai latte’s, and to lounge on the couch watching A Christmas Story. This year, your Graduate Student Writing Group will be hosting a contest for all our members. The goal is to challenge all graduate students at UT Austin to take charge of their academic careers and move forward in their work. |
Prizes
There are three prize categories for this year's #AcWriMo. Prizes are still TBA, but they will be gift cards and/or baskets to local businesses.
Also, all participants will receive a free Graduate Student Writing Group pen, and will be invited to our end of the semester happy hour for prize giveaways and celebratory conversation! |
Participate
Excited? Good! There are two ways to join us. Join us on our Canvas page where you can download and submit your entry form (Goals document) and Progress Tracker document at the end of the month. Not that into Canvas? That's cool - we understand. Register through our Hornslink site, and you can download the Goals document and Progress Tracker document. When you are ready, just email them to us, and we'll enter you! (Though, we really hope you'll try Canvas - we want to grow this site, and it makes it a lot easier on us to manage the entries!) |
